Ghoulwill Ball

Goodwill Industries of Central Texas Home

Thank You

Thank you to our sponsors, donors, volunteers and fabulously ghoulish attendees for making Goodwill’s second annual Ghoulwill Ball on Friday, October 24 a wonderful success.

This annual fundraiser brought the likes of Frankenstein, Dracula, Belle and Gaston, The Karate Kid and more to the most haunted hotel in Austin—The Driskill. Thanks to the support of people like you, we raised more than $58,000 to benefit Goodwill’s employment services to people with barriers to employment.

More than 300 costumed party-goers enjoyed dancing to local Motown-funk band The Memphis Train Revue and socializing all night long with an open bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres. The event featured a fabulous silent auction and a costume contest with the first place winner, a fearful 7-foot tall Ogre, receiving a pair of round-trip tickets to the destination of their choice, courtesy of Southwest Airlines.

Ghouls of all shapes and sizes attended this event to celebrate the spirit of Halloween and raise funds for our education, training, and career services for people with physical, mental and emotional disabilities, as well as those with disadvantages such as welfare dependency, homelessness, and lack of education or work experience.

We believe in work. We have witnessed its power to transform lives. Work helps build self-confidence, friendship, independence, creativity and trust. Everyone deserves a chance to have these things in life. Goodwill provides that chance.

Join us next year for another ghoulishly fabulous Ghoulwill Ball. If you have any suggestions or feedback on the Ghoulwill Ball, we would love to hear them - ghoulwillball@austingoodwill.org.
